Dress Your Best

dress-your-best

A clothing charity that our colleague April Poppe first told me about. They assist low-income people who need to put together outfits for their first interviews. Two locations in the city. – Christie

Furniture Bank

furniture-bank-2

Modelled on a Food Bank, this Toronto charity accepts your donations of good quality, useable furniture to help people setting up a new home. Clients must be referred by a local social services agency. The Furniture Bank can arrange pick-up from you for a small fee. One of my very favourites, they are as rigourous about what they will take as about whom they will give it away to. – Christie

Goodwill Industries of Toronto

They make dropping off donations easy – a drive-through location on Richmond Street East between Sherbourne and Jarvis. And a second drive-through location in Thorncliffe Park.

Trinity College Annual Book Sale

Clients always ask me where to donate their used books. This is one of my favourite causes to suggest. Pick-ups can sometimes be arranged by Trinity Book Sale volunteers. – Christie
