Even Martha Stewart is a fan! From stunning architectural installations to one-of-a-kind handbags (Christie had her favourite summer wicker basket copied into a winter felt model), Kathryn makes magic with the age-old tradition of felt making. They offer everything you need to get organized as well as lovely gift items and things to treat yourself to. Some well-chosen furniture pieces and knowledgeable owners. A gorgeous retail store full of well-chosen and well-made Indian treasures named in honour of the owner Sapna Alim’s mother, Liloo Alim. If you know about the high-end hotel business in this town, you’ll recognize that Liloo is the venerated Head Concierge at the Yorkville Four Seasons. – Christie
A great specialty store on the funky Queen Street West strip close to Bathurst that sells the best looking organizing and storage supplies I’ve found in Toronto. Including some of our favourites: Blomus, Reisenthel and Kartell furnishings. They are also dealers of the must-have Shoebby. – Christie
Darlene Levitz and her two business partners have a wonderful thing going on at ‘Of Things Past’. Very careful about what she accepts for consignment into her showroom, the merchandise is of top quality and in very high demand. If you see it, and like it, please buy it, as there is a very real chance that it will be gone by the time you go back for it. A great place to sell your unused items and to look for new things. And always a pleasure to do business with. – Christie
This store is often overlooked, but I’ve had good luck with hard-to-find items. Cushions and small-space solutions are some of their strengths. The Yonge Street store across from the Eaton Centre is closing March 11 leaving open the store at Eglinton & Laird and in the Beaches. – Christie |
