Just one of many stalls!
This place is my idea of heaven and my husband’s worst shopping nightmare! Nestled in the heart of Kensington Market , Blue Banana is a 2- story loft shopping extravaganza. Full to the brim, with unbelievable one-of-a-kind funky finds from the latest and hottest artisans, Blue Banana is truly a one-stop shop for everyone in your family. An added bonus – they have a cafe serving 3 types of Balzac coffee and yummy treats – great for those weary feet, and the perfect spot to park the husband! – Philippa

A Montreal-based chain of papetries …. stationery stores. Their outlet on the main floor of the Sears store in the Eaton Centre has closed. Part of the Pierre Belvedere empire – they also own the Semi-Kolon (;) line from Germany. Gorgeous design and quality. Heaven for we fountain pen lovers… – Christie

Located on Front Street, this store is a treasure trove of chrome, stainless steel and space-saving concepts. One of the city’s best closet designers now works here – ask for Christopher Willems. – Christie

This charming little Argentinian café & home design store is owned by a former buyer for Caban. Owner Sandra Chinni and her husband Marcelo offer an array of home accessories with a European twist AND serve up delicious bites. I loved the chicken empañada with green sauce. This bright and airy store is worth attempting Adelaide Street parking for! – Philippa

Peter Laywine at his front counter
Two of my favourite things are found in this store – fountain pens and paper organizers! Even those of us who have gone digital can be enraptured by a beautiful paper planner. I can’t count the number of fountain pens I’ve come across organizing clients’ offices. Always loved, they are usually no longer used because they’ve dried up or don’t work well anymore. I take the pens to Laywine’s for a new lease on life. After the repair, the store sends home well-written maintenance instructions to keep them working. Writing with a fountain pen is one of life’s small pleasures I indulge in everyday! – Christie

Nia in front of the always captivating front window at Midge
My hands-down favourite flower and gift shop in Toronto. Pam specializes in tight and full arrangements that are always gorgeous. They do flowers for special occasions and weddings. Good selection of cards & gifts. – Christie

Rowley Ocampo in his store
This place makes me feel like a big kid again! Filled to the brim with funky gifts and quirky household items, Rolo is a one-of-a-kind gift store with something for everyone. Owned and operated by Rowley Ocampo, whose personality is as fun and eccentric as the store itself! – Philippa

A well-stocked, attractive scrapbooking store in Toronto’s Beaches area.
